It would be nice to only get 6 percent markup in the area I live. They take wholesale plus taxes then add up to 8 to 10 percent.

Coughlin, please tell me what is good about this? All this has done is driven up the price of gas and made sure that competition does not drive prices. Wisconsin has to be the capital of stupid liberal ideas. Due to their stupid minimum markup laws some of our prices have been higher than Chicago.

So much for the free market, huh?
It's kind of funny though to think that Flying J of all companies is complaining about not being able to sell gas as cheaply as they want. Back when it was privately owned Flying J has some of the best deals on good diesel fuel around and were almost always the cheapest truck stop for truckers and diesel passenger cars.
Now, they're a public company under different ownership and their prices are sky high. They have set their prices to the exact same as any competing truck stop at each exit, so there is NO MORE CHOICE for truckers, price wise.
I know you may think it's irrelevant to you in your gas hog SUV, but keep in mind the costs trucking companies pay for fuel is passed down to all of us. That they no longer have a cheap option in Flying J anymore means we ALL pay more for our products.
