This is one area where the government should compete, We the people{government} should build our own refineries, make a small profit and use it to pay off our debt not give HUGE PROFITS to the stupid oil companies.

OPEC is happy to keep it there. And Pig Oil can export distillates tax free with taxpayer subsidies.

Oil Trades Lower, Struggles To Keep Above $97 and can decrease in price all it wants. Oil does not have to be Kept Above $97. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! 12/22/2012!

in a perfect world the price at the pump would decrease as fast as it does when it increases, but alas i don't see that happening anytime soon.

The American gas buyers are going to pay the pump price increases period. That is just the way it is going to happen.

I hope the price of gas comes down, but not for long if Obama's EPA tax goes into effect soon.

Who is struggling to keep it above $97? Consumers are struggling to keep it below $50.

The European Union needs to face the inevitable truth: Greece WILL default. And if we don't rein in OUR spending, we will not be far behind. Sooooo, how's that "Hope" and "Change" working out for you?
